High scores of CBSE & ICSE students are hurting State Board’s students

Earlier this month the CBSE & ICSE boards announced the results for board exams 2020. Many students of these boards came out with flying colors, scoring as high as 95% and more. Although these students must have burnt the required mid-night oil and have had the sleepless nights to reach the benchmark. However, they were also under the umbrella of lenient marking adopted by many CBSE & ICSE teachers.

But such is not the case with students of state boards like UP, MP, Rajasthan etc. where the evaluation system is absolutely different from the CBSE & ICSE boards and also quite strict. All this make it difficult for students of these boards to join the queue of high scorers.

But the problem is even more aggravated when it comes to clearing the most talked about & sky-rocketing cut offs of many prestigious institutions like the Delhi University.

The high scores of the CBSE & ICSE students not only increase the competition but also inflates these cut offs to another levels every year. This leaves the students of state board ineligible to apply to these elite institutions and thus out of the race before even competing.
