The CBSE & ICSE boards have informed the SC on Friday that they will declare the results of board exams 2020 by July 15. The decision is taken so that the students can apply to various undergraduate courses across various universities in India and aboard.
Earlier on Thursday the CBSE decided to cancel the pending board exams scheduled for July 1-15 considering the rises number of coronaviruses cases and students’ safety. The ICSE also decided to abide by the decision of the CBSE.
For the students of CBSE classes 10 and 12, who have completed all examinations, their results will be declared based on their performance in the examinations they have already appeared.
For students who have appeared in the examinations in more than three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.
However, for students who have appeared in the examinations in only three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best two performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.
Unlike the CBSE the ICSE will follow a different evaluation scheme which they will declare in a week’s time.
Also, the CBSE board has given the option to students of class 12 that they can appear for the remaining at a later date when the conditions are conducive. Whereas, students of ISC class 12 have no such option and they will be evaluated on the basis of marking scheme decided by the board.
