With the COVID-19 situation getting only worse by the day, the CBSE is compelled to reconsider its decision to conduct the remaining examinations in July.
As per reports, the CBSE will apprise the SC about its decision on pending examinations on Tuesday and will let the court decide on the cancellation of the examinations.
The CBSE is likely to announce an alternative assessment method, such as using internal assessment scores or the average of the marks scored in the papers already completed.
The CBSE may also allow students who wish to improve their scores to appear for the examinations at a later date.
Earlier the board examinations were cancelled in mid-March because of COVID-19.
Also, the SC court is hearing a plea of a group of parents demanding cancellation of the pending board exams due to rising number of coronavirus cases across the country.
