In one of the latest notifications issued, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that class X and XII board examinations and exams of Classes IX and XI would be based on syllabus given by CBSE and not according to that given in National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks.
The circular was issued in lieu of certain information being given in NCERT textbooks that was irrelevant for the purpose of examination.
The circular stated, “The CBSE prescribes NCERT textbooks for Classes IX, X, XI and XII. It has been brought to the notice of CBSE that in these books, at certain places, it is mentioned that some particular parts of the books are not for the purpose of examination/assessment. Similar instructions are given for the information/questions provided in boxes also
It is for the information of all concerned that this information of all concerned that this information is not applicable for the students who will be appearing in the Class X and XII examinations conducted by CBSE in 2020”.
Schools and students have been advised by CBSE to go through the syllabus uploaded on http://cbseacademic.nic.in/curriculum.html.
