For the last few months, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with various guidelines catering to students and teachers in order to make the learning process more effective and easy. This time too, the board has come up with strict guidelines against coaching centres being operational inside schools.
In a recent circular issued, the board has asked all its affiliated schools to shut down the coaching centres that are being operational inside the school premises.
Recently CBSE received complaints regarding the functioning of coaching centres running inside the premises of schools during school hours in order to prepare students for various entrance and competitive examinations like medical and engineering.
Evidence received against schools had put light on the Board Affiliation bylaws of 2018 that barred commercial activities in CBSE affiliated schools. The bylaw also empowers the CBSE to disaffiliate any school, if it is found violating the laws.
Most teachers do not teach competently in schools in order to compel students to opt for private coaching. As a consequence of which, the board has barred private tuitions by teachers and also prohibited school teachers to engage in private coaching.
