This time the NCERT books will have a totally changed syllabus. It will be finalized once the NEP (New Education Policy) and the NCF(National Curriculum Framework) is placed in order.
According to sources in the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), NCERT school textbooks will now see alterations in the coming two years.
The Revision of 2017 had came nearly after 15 years. These changes were materialised because of the feedback provided by the Teachers, parents, members of education groups.
The below mentioned changes were introduced when the syllabus was changed last in 2017:
Addition of topics such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Demonetisation.
Inclusion of a Chapter on the mightiest king Maharana Pratap in the History Textbook of class seven.
Extra information regarding the Indian Knowledge system was also included.
Also the books meant for classes six to ten had topics on ancient India, philosophy, Yoga and Ayurveda.
The next alterations will follow the education policy of India. All the policy of changes in the NCERT text books are in accordance to the NCF 2005.
NCERT text books have witnessed changes in the years 1975, 1988, 2000, 2005. The new revision will be number fifth. The council is also planning to introduce supplementary units in a few subjects.
