Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated several changes in its examination pattern in the last few days. As per the latest exam pattern for Class 12, CBSE has increased the weightage of school based internal assessment. Question papers from now onwards will have more number of objective type questions.

Internal assessment introduced

Till last year, internal assessment was not applicable for subjects like Maths, languages and Political Science. With effect from 2019-2020 examinations, 20% marks will be allotted to internal exams and rest 80% to the board exams. However, the rules will not be applicable to science and fine arts stream.

More multiple choice questions

Another major change adopted by the board has brought about a great relief to the students. From 2020, CBSE will introduce 25% multiple choice questions in all subjects. Thus out of the 80 marks paper, students will only answer the subjective questions for 60 marks. This will enable them to secure better marks and improve their overall score.

Increased number of internal options in all sections

The CBSE increased internal options in all sections of question paper by 33% in 2019 Board Exams. The same will continue to apply for 2020 Class 12 Board examinations. Increase in options help students to choose wisely and score better.

The above mentioned amendments introduced by the Board will help students score higher marks and improve their results for further studies.
