UP Board Ends Elementry Mathematics, CBSE is going to start from 2020 exams

The UP Board is going to end elementary mathematics in high school with the examination of 2020. So far, there was a mathematical paper for the students of elementary class and students of classical arts and students of science class. But in 2020, mathematics will include only one paper. Interestingly, while CBSE is going to launch this paper for the first time in 2020 with the name Basic Math.

The UP board was giving the option of mathematics and elementary mathematics over the years in high school. The arithmetic was more in the elementary mathematics course prepared for the children of the art classes. It was simple from the course of mathematics set for children of science classes. Mathematics 20,76,874 for the High School Examination of 2019, whereas in elementary Mathematics 1,18,262 students were registered.

But the UP Board has now eliminated elementary mathematics. Now for all the 10th students, a mathematical paper will be formed. At the same time, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) started a course called Basic Math, to end the fear of mathematics from students’ minds. Students can take one of the standard math and basic math paper.

Standard Math’s syllabus has been kept at the current level whereas Basic Math has been made easier. The standard level is designed keeping students in mind, who want to pursue further studies with mathematics. The basic level will be for them, who do not want to get higher education in mathematics. The basic level question paper will be a bit easier.

Nina Srivastava (Secretary UP Board) said - In the high school exam of 2020 only mathematics will be a paper. The initial mathematical topic has been abolished on the instructions of the government.
