On 20 February 2019, the HRD Minister, Mr. Javadekar launched the Operation Digital Board to upgrade the education system in India.
With the help of the ODB- Operation Digital Board the normal classroom can be converted into the digital classroom and the e-resources will be available to the students irrespective of the place and time they require.
HRD Minister also narrated that “Operation digital Board is a revolutionary step which will make the teaching and learning process more interactive and will henceforth popularize the flipped learning as the pedagogical approach”.
The ODB will be introduced in both government and government aided schools from Class IX standards from the academic session 2019 across India.
Mr. Javadekar also proclaimed that this new type of learning will boost adaptive skills in the students and they will become well versed with the novice concepts like artificial intelligence, data analytics and machine learning. According to him the main issue with our education system is that equal education cannot be imparted to the students.
As per HRD Union Minister, in spite of having the best institutions, schools and colleges in our country still there is requirement of a new technology which can improve the teaching and learning process because still our students does not rate them in the same parity with the rest of the students of the world. This gap can be filled with the introduction of ODB technology in the schools.
