Health Science, a subject which is closely associated with the fundamental knowledge about primary health care is a new subject which will be probably added to the present curriculum of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for classes 9.10, 11, and 12. The syllabus of this subject is jointly created by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).
An official narrated that we did a small survey before planning to add this subject to the present curriculum, and asked numerous people what should be done if a dog bites you prior visiting the doctor. And the result was quite shocking as handful of the people could only answer this question and we can conclude that there is no awareness about fundamental primacy healthcare requirements.
The official further added that due to lack of proper knowledge, the patients are brought to the hospitals when their medical conditions are worse. So if proper healthcare education is imparted to the people there can be fewer death rates and we could save a lot of lives.
Based on relevant sources, HRD Ministry is reviewing the new syllabus and Health Science will be a part of the curriculum from the upcoming academic session which is commencing from April.
