The Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced that it has reduced the passing marks for its two Board exams, ICSE (Class X) & ISC (Class XII). This move is aimed at bringing the pass mark in parity with other Boards. From next academic session 2019, the pass mark for ICSE will be 33 % instead of 35 % & the pass mark for ISC has been reduced from 40% to only 35%.
The Inter Board Working Group or IBWG had recommended that all the boards across the country should have a uniform passing criteria, in order to ensure more standardization.
