CBSE has finally released the revised syllabus for board exams for the academic year 2021-2022. The exams will be held in two parts as Term I and Term II. Earlier this month, the board had announced this new pattern of conducting exams for class 10 and class 12. This step has been taken to avoid canceling the exams, like this year, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The changes made by the Central Board of Secondary Education include a rationalized syllabus for classes 9 to 12. The syllabus for classes 9 to 12 has been divided into two terms. The complete syllabus has also been reduced. The Term I exam will have 50% of the syllabus, while the remaining 50% will be covered in Term II. Students would be asked to appear for the term-end examinations.
The students can check their new reduced syllabus on the official website. Click on the link to get redirected to the revised syllabus- CBSE Revised Syllabus for Board Exams 2022.
There will be multiple-choice questions in the Term I exam, including case-based MCQs and MCQs on the assertion-reasoning type. The duration of this exam will be 3 hours covering 50% of the reduced syllabus.
In the Term 2 exam, there will be case-based, situation-based, open-ended short answer and long answer type questions. The duration of this exam will be two hours.
Term I will be held in November-December while Term II will be held in Mach-April.
