The Coronavirus pandemic in the country has pushed for the cancellation of 10th Boards and several other school and undergraduate exams. Though, authorities have been mulling over some more crucial exams like 12th Boards and national competitive exams. A meeting was recently held to find a solution for the same; where the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) presented a couple of alternatives. A major consensus has been achieved for this- conducting 90-minute tests for 19 major subjects, instead of the usual three hours, with ‘very short questions’. This exam will most likely be held in two phases, so students who miss the first phase due to Covid-19 complications can sit in the second phase. The results would be declared by 5th September. Also, students will give the exams in their respected schools, and different exam centres will not be allotted. The Centre has called for the States’ opinions regarding the same by 25th May.
