All schools in Andhra Pradesh to have CBSE system for classes 1-7 from the new academic year i.e., 2021-22. A release from the Chief Minister office said that gradually this system will move up from classes 8-10. By 2024, the government plans to have all classes from 1-10 under the CBSE system.
The announcement comes amid the ongoing litigation in the Supreme Court against the conversion of all government schools to English medium.
The move seen as a measure by the government to completely do away with the Telugu medium of education.
However, the government has not released any statement on whether it will do away with the state syllabus or introduce CBSE parallel to it.
